I offer 45 minute and 60 minute sessions.  If I am preferred provider with your insurance company I have agreed to their fee schedule. Some insurance companies will not pay for a 60 minute session.  My rate for a 45 minute session is $165I normally keep a small number of hours available to see people at a reduced rate based on the situation in my practice and the individual’s need.  If you would like to discuss a reduction in fee, please contact me.

Things to consider before using your Health Insurance for psychotherapy:

It is important to be aware that whenever insurance is used for psychotherapy, the treatment must be considered of "medical necessity," which means that the therapist must give you a psychiatric diagnosis. Your diagnosis, the length of our treatment, and possibly other personal information becomes available to the insurance company and becomes a part of a computer database. The transfer of your personal information may compromise your ability to get insurance in the future.

Some people find that using their insurance company undermines their sense of privacy. If you are experiencing financial stress and don't want to go through your insurance company you can ask me if I would be able to adjust the fee so that you could afford therapy.

Money doesn't talk, it swears.

If you wish to use your health insurance it will be helpful if you have the following information before you contact me:

  • Find out if your insurance covers Outpatient Mental Health and how many sessions are covered per year.
  • Am I on your insurance network?  If not, does your plan allow the option to work with an out of network provider?  What is the cost difference to you?
  • Do you have a deductible?  If you do, how much is it and has it been met?  You will also want to know when your benefit year ends and begins.
  • How much is your co-pay?

This information will help you have a clear picture of the cost of psychotherapy.

Below is a partial list of the insurance panels with whom I participate.

Keep in mind that even if your insurance company isn't listed, I may still be able to accept your insurance.  Many insurance companies allow you to utilize out of network providers.
